Debbie Leigh, reporter and columnist for the Yorkshire Evening Post, is a self-confessed screamer and lover of scary movies, although her bravery usually expires before the end of the opening credits.

She admits being traumatised by spooky flicks, often experiencing nightmares for weeks afterwards, but she enjoys the adrenaline buzz of scaring herself so is hoping to experience some real-life blood-curdling moments.

Debbie has carried out all sorts of investigations during her six years in journalism - but they have generally been of a more earthbound nature. Part of her reason for getting involved in the Haunted Leeds quests is because she is keen to find out whether there really is something else out there.

She comes to the spooky tours as a half-believer - she's had a couple of strange night-time ghostly visions but is never sure whether they were genuine apparitions or the combination of one too many glasses of vino before bed and make-up smudging into her eyes, blurring her sight.

Debbie is looking forward to exploring the hidden corridors of some of the city's most historic buildings, finding out how to communicate with those "on the other side", seeing how mediums carry out their work and most importantly, finding out whether she looks good in night vision.
